(More customer reviews)Yes, this will protect your shoes from scuffs, BUT... the plastic covers on the underside, which protect the Shubandit straps from wear when walking around are very slippery. This is a little problem when walking around, but a much bigger problem when putting your left foot down on the pavement at a traffic light, or even worse when stopped on a hill. If I keep using this product, I will cut those off and just accept more rapid wear.
