(More customer reviews)First off, I'll say I'm very happy with this intake overall. It is a Street Warrior intake, NOT an action plus. The high and lows are as follows:
Pros:
-NOT an Edelbrock
-very well machined
-two tapped ports in the front water passage, great for a block heater return
-Needed minimal port matching for my heads
-Lighter than my factory aluminum intake.
Cons:
-Cast in china, machined in the US (just like all new edelbrocks, but without the made in usa stickers plastered on it)
-no rear water passage. My factory aluminum intake didn't have them either, but it had solid flat points that could be tapped for a crossover line, this intake does not
-Throttle linkage mounts did not match up to factory linkage plate
-distributor hold down relief didn't match the factory hold down..minor annoyance, but it took me a bit of time fighting with various bolt lengths til I had one that would fit OK. Could have cut the back tip off my hold down, but would have lost the "loop" for the bolt to go through and would have just had a U, didn't like that idea.
-Alternator bracket mounting points were 3/8" off from factory. Plan on enlarging the bolt hole in your bracket.
-A/C compressor mounting point (R4 compressor)was about 3/16" off from factory.
Overall, a well made intake with a few minor installation problems, nothing that is completely unexpected with an aftermarket "universal" part.
