(More customer reviews)I purchased this muffler for a stock 3.6 2000 Impala. I wanted dual exhaust but the muffler was too far to the back of the car so I had to purchase a second muffler. The guy at the shop warned me that it would probably be very loud and possibly pop. As it turns out, they are not loud at all! I imagine that splitting the exhaust on my puny engine means that there is not much air going to each muffler so not much sound.
That is not to say that there is no difference. These guys sound MUCH better than stock. I have a throatier rumble when idling (I like to start my car with the garage door down and pretend I have a muscle car.) and a noticeable difference on acceleration. There is very little internal resonance sound that turned out to be a non-issue (I was worried it would drown out my stereo).
All-in-all I am very pleased with these mufflers. Just disappointed with my engine.
